I'm Antony. If you look at a venn diagram of a 30 something millennial hipster you will find me waving at you in the epicentre with my boyfriend and dog on the sandy windswept coastline of the ever so trendy Margate, where Mahal Kita Flowers was born.
Mahal Kita is an evolution of myself and the career paths I’ve been so lucky to have. From working many years in the fashion industry (surprise) I opened a beautiful coffee shop / events space / bakery / yoga studio hybrid, which lives on as Benk + Bo in Aldgate London.
Relocating to Margate I knew I wanted to continue to work creatively while linking everything I had ever done right back to my roots, my parents. Floristry was so obvious and natural that it seemed crazy it had taken me so long to get here.
After some begging and borrowing I had the privilege to attend my florist education at a vocational course at McQueens Flowers in London. From there I let myself *cough* bloom.
Flowers are beautiful, ridiculous and funny. They represent so much and yet they are so transient. In that sense Mahal Kita takes this short lived beauty and creates a memory, a smell, a feeling or just a moment to smile, to show love. To feel love.
